Yoursrockets, worlds, and wild ideas

01 / Make your own way

From a handful of parts
to a very big idea.

A rocket is just the beginning. Put the same parts to work in a space station, a rover, an aircraft, a crane, or a machine nobody has a name for yet.

The builderEvery flight starts at the workbench.

Make it fit.
Make it move.

Resize parts. Lay out fuel paths. Set your stages. Add hinges, cargo doors, docking ports, grabbers, drills, ropes, and powered winches.

Then give it your own finish with paint, textures, and decals. The geometry you build matters when it flies.

02 / The atmosphere has opinions

Getting up is only
half the story.

Turn the wrong side into the airstream and your careful design becomes a very bright experiment.

The shape

Exposure matters.

Incoming flow finds the exposed hull. Sheltered parts receive less heat, so shielding and attitude make a difference.

The speed

A little faster. A lot hotter.

The heating model grows with the cube of speed at the same air density. Your trajectory is part of your heat shield.

The aftermath

Bring back the evidence.

Directional scorch stays with the parts that earned it, through separation, docking, and your next saved game.

03 / Think in trajectories

A whole system
within reach.

Plot a transfer. Match another vessel's orbit. Dock a new station module. Step outside on an alien surface.

Coasting spacecraft follow exact two-body orbits, while engines, atmosphere, and contact use the custom physics simulation. Switch between flight and map views of the same world.

Same curiosity. Different distances.

Your mission.
Your scale.

Choose 1:20, 1:10, or full 1:1 scale for each world. Compact systems bring orbit closer. Your vehicles keep their size and the surface gravity stays familiar.

What changes, and why ↗
Choose a solar-system scale
Earth radius in this world318.6 km

A smaller Earth and shorter trips. Full-size rockets and the same surface gravity.

World scale changes celestial dimensions, not your parts.

04 / Follow your curiosity

There is a lot to get
sidetracked by.

01

Build a space program.

Learn through Career missions, unlock hardware, and put it to use in your persistent open world. Or start a Sandbox with the toolbox open.

02

Get your boots dirty.

Explore on EVA. Plant flags and collect rocks. Drive a rover, float a craft, or point a powered drill at the ground and make a tunnel.

Surfaces and machines ↗
03

Give physics a rope.

Lower a payload, tow a vessel, or build a winch-powered crane. Off-centre tension can turn both craft. The motor needs actual electrical power.

Tension, torque, and winches ↗
04

Make your own world.

Body Studio puts terrain, atmospheres, water, rings, and landmarks in your hands. See edits in the same renderer you fly through.

05

Teach it to fly.

Build flight programs in Mission Lab. Connect conditions to actions, stage your craft, and let guidance handle a burn.

06

Leave something for the next builder.

Make new parts and moving artwork with the mod tools. Browse reviewed blueprints in the Community Hangar and share your own.
